CHANDIGARH Nearly eight months after noti fying the Haryana Registra-tion and Regulation of Travel Agents Act, 2025, the state gov ernment has finally appointed ombudsman and competent authorities per the legisla tion, against the backdrop of the deportation of youth from Hary entered the US through the illegal ‘donkey route.
The Act was notified on April 9, but the appointments were made only this month. Notably, the rules required for implementation of the Act are yet to be notified. As per an order issued by the Home Department on December 11. Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) have been designated as ombudsmen to hear com plaints from aggrieved persons.
