The government will take ac-tion if the benefit of the GST cuts are not passed on to consumers from Monday even in the absence of an anti-profiteering authority under the tax regime for new cases.
Government sources said that Central Consumer Pro-tection Authority (CCPA) can inquire and investigate violations of consumer rights or unfair trade prac-tices, either suo motu or on a complaint received or on the directions of the Central government.
