GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad district administration has constituted a committee to address complaints by residents against restidents welfare associations (RWA) and apartment owners associations (AOA), officials said on Thursday. The panel will probe allegations of harassment, intimidation, or misuse of power by office bearers and take legal action where required.

Officials said the move follows a sharp rise in complaints from residents of high-rises about arbitrary functioning and mismanagement their RWAs and ADA “The committee will exch aively handle such complaints. Residents can submit their grievances to the offices of the district or city magistrate. Once a complaint is received. an inquiry will be conducted, and legal action. including FIFRs, will follow if alle gation are found true,” said city magistrite Santosh Kumar.
DM Mandar said residents had complained about a range of Issues from poor maintersance of lifts and fire systems to alleged bullying by private bouncers employed by HWAs. “We decided to form this committee after repeated complaints. Some issues poke safety risks, while others involve direct harass-ment,” he said.
