Ghaziabad: District magistrate Ravindra Mandar on Thursday ordered an FIR against the office bearers of a Rajnagar Extension society’s apartment owners association (AOA) over alleged financial irregularities.
The action followed a complaint from a resident of Savy Ville De Society, Satyajeet Kumar, who alleged fraud and misuse of funds by the office-bearers. The FIR was yet to be registered at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, president of the society’s AOA, Hemant, told TOI that the AOA has requested the DM to carry out a re-audit of the society’s accounts. The audit, conducted by the office of the deputy registrar
This is the first major action since a special task force (STF), led by city magistrate Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, was formed to address complaints against AOA and housing eties. The STF was formed to look into long-pending complaints regarding the management of residential societies, improper maintenance of high-rise apartments, non-functional lifts, and lack of facilities.
The DM said, “No one will be allowed to exploit residents. Every complaint will be resolved with complete quality, and strict action will follow where any wrongdoing is found. If anyone’s grievance remains unresolved, they can approach me directly.”
